Hello! I am an NCTJ and BCTJ-trained journalist, recently i graduated with a Journalism degree with an NCTJ diploma with shorthand.
I am a reporter for Newsquest for The Border Telegraph and Peeblesshire News. I also have experience at media organisations including BBC Scotland, The Big Issue and The National.
This website is to share some of my travel writing. After spending over a decade watching others prepare and enjoy their adventures through working in an outdoor gear retail store and as a hotel duty manager I decided to do what I always wanted to do: write and travel. So I moved to Glasgow from the little Midlothian mining village I grew up in to attempt to do that.
My current countries visited toll is 44, over five continents and pretty much everywhere is on my list! My aim for this site is to try and focus on affordable travel as well as vegan and environmentally friendly options.
As well as travel I also plan on writing about music and true crime; specifically, cold cases and missing persons. I also have a keen interest in social justice issues, and I hope to use my writing as a platform to give a voice to those who are often forgotten and ignored.
